Hansueli Bohren died on June 15, 2023 at the age of 96 years. We are all very sad to lose a great man, a good friend and our former leader of the Curling Weeks in Zermatt, as well as for the usual activities in Lausanne, where he was President of the veterans for many years. It was always very nice to work with him in the weekly organisation of the tournaments and ordinary activities which he conducted as President.

The relationship between him and the Scottish Curlers were always very important and the Scottish Weeks we spent for many years in Zermatt were highlights in our sport. He also organized the first Scotland trip in September 1994, the beginning of a wonderful understanding of the Scottish curling. Two other Scottish trips could be organized in 2000 and 2005, so that we got a very good knowledge of this wonderful country.

It would be too voluminous to describe all the events we had during the Scottish weeks in Zermatt. We spent wonderful weeks thanks to his charming character and leader of the events, Scotland and the wonderful Curlers will remain in our mind.

So does Hansueli, a great man and a friend we cannot forget, and we hope that the relationship with the Scottish Curlers will continue in this spirit. A good friend has gone, but many other good friends keep in mind the relationship he promoted during many years.

I am so sorry to say that we have lost another friend and curler. Edith Schenk passed away on 24 October 2023.

My wife and I met Edith at our first Scottish Week in 2014. She was an experienced curler from Basel and she welcomed us warmly into the Scottish Week fold. She was serious on the ice but was also one of the first to don the silly hats at the Scottish Parties.

One of my recurring memories is of Edith trying to convince Roy to hold his broom parallel to the ice when he was standing behind the opposing skip and also for him not to drop ashes into the house.

We will miss Edith's presence on the ice and in our hearts.
