Thank you for a wonderful week

Thank you to our Sponsors, Special Guests, and those whose work made it possible

Thank you to our sponsors! We are fortunate to have local sponsors in Scotland that are supporting our "Scottish Week in Zermatt visits the home of curling" event in Hamilton.

How fitting that CLEANsweep would sponsor our curling tournaments!

One of the largest contract cleaning businesses in central Scotland owned and operated by the husband and wife entrepreneurs Gerald and Jean Bonner. Additionally, landscape maintenance was later added their portfolio which brought their staff levels to over 100. They were recently awarded the accolade “ Maintenance Contractor of the Year!" in a hotly contested section of business in Scotland.

We are grateful for their contribution to make our event a successful and wonderful event! Thank you!

On Friday we were joined by President Jimmy Raeburn (Royal Caledonian Curling Club, RCCC) who awarded the winner prizes for both competitions and stayed for informal discussions with the curlers. Thank you Jimmy, and we hope to see you again in Schaffhausen!

Thank you to the organising committee, volunteers, and to the Lanarkshire Ice Rink!

The tournament had support from many people…some who stepped in on a moment's notice. We hope that we thanked everyone sufficiently at the time and acknowledged their help. If not, please let Paul know and he will add them to the lists…

The organising committee:
- Scottish side: Jane Carmichael, David Clarkson, Isabel McCracken, Roy Murray
- Swiss side: Willi Leu, Paul Nakagaki

Thank you again to all the musicians who contributed their time and their talents to entertain the group. Music has been a long tradition at the Scottish Week, and one can take the participation for granted. But they are always appreciated and a big thank you to Roy Murray for coordination at this year's event.

Major support from:
- Martha Clarkson, Archie McNee, Carina McNee, Gordon Gilchrist

Special thanks to:
- Lockhart Steele (Manager of the Rink) for the flags, sponsors banners, and the dance floor
- Barry for keeping the teams well-watered, and to Stewart for the excellent meals (not overlooking the excellent support of the Swiss evening)
- The many curlers who brought treats to the Scottish and Swiss and Canadian parties as well as wine, pins, and goodies
- Michel and Lisa Martin for their gift of Consul wine (https://www.consul.ch/en/)
- The Consulate General of Switzerland for providing the fondue pots!

And to David Clarkson goes the final word of appreciation. David was everywhere during the tournament from transferring curlers to and fro, from hosting dinners, being master of ceremonies. In a very real and tangible way, David WAS the Scottish-Swiss Week in Hamilton, and all of us benefited from his efforts, his spirits, his "never say never" attitude and his very much needed good humour. Thank you David!
